Samvada

Objective:

Our intention is to strengthen the vernacular print media and electronic media with young professionals who are technically skilled, informed about national, regional and global politics and sensitive to the complexities of societal change, peace, justice and development. At the same time, our attempt is to bring in the voices and world- views of dalits, muslims, adivasis, women and youth from northern parts of Karnataka.

Who can apply?

The Six month course in Kannada is open to young people between the ages of 21-35 who have completed an undergraduate degree course in any subject and in keeping with our objectives of reaching marginalized youth; those who have attempted but not passed the BA exams may also apply

 

Course Structure:

Our unique curriculum cover a wide range of subjects that are grounded in the demands and needs of the media industry and the dilemmas and insecurities/inferiorities of disadvantaged youth.
Our curriculum therefore has 3 blocks:

(i) Perspectives on Media & Society

(ii) Technical Media skills and 

(iii) Life Skills
