At Baduku Community College, we are looking to hire a faculty member for The Centre for Youth and Sustainable Development, which creates professionals and social entrepreneurs who will address emerging ecological concerns like rainwater harvesting, solid waste management and sustainable farming. The Centre offers both foundational certificate and advanced level courses in Sustainable Agriculture, and is soon to launch a new course in Solid Waste Management.

Responsibilities include:

• To co-convene the foundational certificate course in Sustainable Agriculture and the advanced course in Rejuvenating Leadership in Agriculture

• To help build curriculum for the new course in Solid Waste Management (to be held in 2017)

• To conduct outreach, planning and coordination activities for the course in Solid Waste Management

• To take responsibility for conducting the Solid Waste Management course (including creating a course plan, inviting resource persons, co-teaching, planning assessment, organising student mentoring, organising field visits and exposure visits, and reporting)

• To assist the Convener with reporting and consultation work

• To participate in other programmes and projects that the organisation might be involved in

 

Criteria for recruitment:

• She/he should either have a Masters Degree in any discipline.

• She/he should have work experience in the field of social activism through initiatives linked to Education/ Environment/Media.

• She/he should have expertise in teaching/facilitation on subjects related to sustainable development.

• Applicant should be passionate about working with disadvantaged young people, mentoring and empowering them for individual development and growth.

• Applicant should have a vision for social change and critical analysis of the role of professions in society.

• She/he should be willing to work in a team, honour deadlines and manage multiple deliverables at a time.

Cost to company: Rs. 36,000-38,000 per month with benefits on confirmation.
